Sangho-ri may not present a view carved out of fantastic rocks, but the clean, fresh air of the isolated forest, hidden away from civilization, makes it seem as if the mountain valleys of Gangwon-do have been transplanted onto Gyeonggi-do land.

Long ago, our land, home of the famous Yeoju rice (served to the kings of past dynasties) roamed with tigers, which is why our land also goes by the names of Hogok, Hoshil, Hodong and Beomshil (the
prefixes ¡° ho- ¡° and ¡° beom- ¡° mean ¡° tiger).
Surrounded by Daeryeom Peak, Suri Rock Mountain and Hoshilryeong, Sangho-ri, during the spring, is abundant with fresh greens and organically grown vegetables, grains and shitake mushrooms.

In our village, tofu is still made the old-fashioned way: beans are ground up with a millstone and heated in a traditional cauldron over direct heat. Guests and visitors will have the opportunity to make rice cakes the old-fashioned way. Nothing beats the taste of piping hot rice cakes straight from the cauldron. Dip them in nutty bean powder and pop the gooey hot goodness in your mouth! At night, guests can sit around a big bonfire sharing stories as they roast sweet potatoes and in the morning, awake to the sound of the chirping birds. Come experience all this for yourself at Sangho-ri.
