(Hoseong). This document is a role made of
thick Korean traditional paper attached by
silk and is 37.4cm long and 190.7cm wide.
The letters are written in the Haeseoche style
from the right to the left. On the issuing
date at the end, a square Royal Seal is affixed. This
message¡¯s contents are about Hongjin¡¯s distinguished
service to the King, prizes and privileges
for the service, a list of meritorious subjects
and evidences for the service, etc.

into three grades. The first grade includes
Lee Hang-bok and the second grade includes
Ryu Seong-ryong. Hongjin was also called Heego,
Injae or Twechon and his family name¡¯s origin
is Namyang. He took various officer¡¯s positions
after passing the National Test in 1564 (era
of King Myeongjong).He voluntarily retired
