This is a common kind of stone pagoda of 2.46m with
a three-storied body on a square two-storied stand.Under
the stylobate consisting of a single stone, there
is a pedestal made of several stones. There are engravings
on the sides of the stylobate¡¯s lower layer and
lotus flowers are carved on the top.Tilted eaves
are attached to a thick stone covering the upper
level stylobate.Of the pagoda body, the first floor
is made out of a single stone and is relatively
lower than the stylobate; all of the remaining parts
of the body and roof stone are made with another
single stone. The roof stones consist of three stairs
and each stair is made up of three layers. The eaves
are very thick and slightly tilted upward near the
end. Inside this pagoda, a case (16.7cm*3cm) for
the relic bones of a Buddhist priest and a Bronze
Statue of a Standing Buddha (4.4cm high) were found.
This pagoda was moved here in 1958 from its original
place; a temple site in Ha-ri, Yeoju-eup. |
